The step by step process

  • Speaking with your neighbours

    Before formally serving party wall notices, we recommend initiating informal conversations with your neighbors. This proactive step not only keeps the atmosphere amicable and friendly but also provides an opportunity to address any concerns or questions they may have about the upcoming project.

    Building trust and open communication from the outset ensures a smoother transition when the formal notices are served,

  • Serving the notices

    Party wall notices are formally served to the owner of each affected property to seek their consent for upcoming construction activities. Accompanying these notices are copies of the detailed architectural drawings, providing adjoining owners with a comprehensive understanding of the proposed project.

    This transparent communication allows neighbors to carefully consider the plans and make informed decisions about their response,

  • Neighbours Response

    Once the party wall notice has been served, neighbors affected by the proposed construction have a fourteen-day window to respond.

Neighbours Consent

This consent negates the need for a formal party wall award. For comprehensive protection, engaging a party wall surveyor to assess and document the area just before construction begins offers an additional layer of assurance against potential disputes.

Neighbours Dissent

If your neighbour dissents to the notices, or does not respond in within the required timeframe. you are required to appoint a party wall surveyor to create the necessary award.

Initiating this process involves appointing an agreed surveyor. In this case we have a very experienced party wall surveyor that we would be happy to recommend.

Rear extension and Outbuilding

I can’t rate Extension Plans highly enough. They definitely exceeded my expectations. Initially I was unsure to use their service as their approach is so different to a traditional architect. But Philip explained EPs approach so easily and provided me with the comfort I needed to select them for my extension project. I was also amazed how quickly the team responded to emails. And even when things are unclear it’s simple to call them and they take the time to explain. Even when the Council asked for iterations to the drawings the turnaround was so quick by the team. Double storey side extension

We used Extension Plans for the renovation of our three bed terraced house, which included a ground floor rear extension and loft. I had originally planned to go with a much more expensive architect but opted for Extension Plans to keep costs down. I’m glad I did because they did exactly what we needed them to. Created the plans, building regs drawings, structural calculations, party wall notices all on time, handled the relevant applications and calculatio I on time, ho dled the relevant answered all my questions. Also introduced us to a bunch of builders via a couple of tender platforms. No surprises and very straightforward. Thanks to Kamila, Mackenzie, and Cameron.

Renovation, rear extension and loft conversion

What a fantastic service I have just received from the whole team at Extension plans UK. I needed extension plans drawn up as my husband is disabled and we required a large downstairs bathroom and a re-jig to our kitchen. On first call to Phillip, he explained the best way forward and gave us the heads up on what’s next. Mackenzie then made regular contact keeping us updated with all the procedures needed. Even taking us though permitted development. Natalia drew up the plans, tweaking them to suit our personal needs. Extra wide doors ect, to a high standard. All the staff were very attentive, polite and delivered what we asked for and more. We could not have asked for a better service.

Loft conversion and side extension

Highly recommend! Great service from start to finish. Had Extension Plans UK interior design department draw up some plans for my dated living room and bedroom and made a massive difference!

Interior design service

Extension Plans UK are competitively priced and their staff are really knowledgeable and helpful. Although they offer a fixed price service, Mackenzie, the administrator for our project, and the architects Kamila and Berkay, spent a lot of time with us. Kamila and Berkay listened to our ideas and talked through the details of the design and the construction. They took everything we had said into account and designed a scheme that gave us everything that we wanted. All the staff at Extension Plans UK were easy to contact and very helpful so we felt well supported through the whole process.
